PROBLEMS AND DIFFICULTIES OF GIFTED CHILDREN
Abstract
Gifted children are known to be special. They differ from their peers. Intellectually gifted children have an intellectual ability significantly higher than average. As a rule they show an interest to subjects their contemporaries never take in. It is obvious that they may have more problems in their life, education, relationships with those around them. High potentials can be affected and concerned about many circumstances. The goal of this article is to present possible difficulties of gifted children as well as their teachers and parents might face. We first determined these problems. Having studied this issue in many resources we then relatively divided them into four groups: psychological, social, physiological and psychosocial. Finally, we have concluded with the following: the problems of gifted children can; each problem demands a special psychological and pedagogical approach; only joint efforts both parents and teachers can help to find solutions to these problems.
