CREATIVITY IN THE LOCAL CULTURAL CONDITIONS OF SLOVAKIA: OPPORTUNITIES AND RISKS
Abstract
Creative economy encompasses various forms of creativity: beginning with the creations of highly-specialized professionals, though commercial activities leveraging selected features of art, to hobbies, interests and voluntary activities, The current recommendations of the European Commission emphasize that is necessary to methodically and specially utilize all the functions of culture in manner that is profitable foremost for the local community, and consequently for the whole society. An important catalyst in smaller towns and villages are the activities of local cultural agents, i. e. associations, clubs and interest groups functioning primarily on the basis of voluntariness and non-profesionalism. Focus of interest is headed to the reduction of the negative impact of ongoing changes, namely apathy, fatigue and reluctance of residents and locals to participate in public community life, both social and cultural. In local culture context are among the important objectives mastering of community cohesion, for the most part on activities and strategies which could visibly improve quality of cultural and social life. Intergroup cooperation, which is based on intercultural dialogue, significantly affects the quality of social and cultural life of local communities. The study maps the implementation of these starting points to the curriculum of the culturology in the context of research tasks for the commission KEGA Skills for sphere of culture (project No. 115UK-4/2013).
