THE JUSTICE, HUMAN VIRTUES AND SOCIAL VALUE
Abstract
From a social viewpoint, justice is the principle which most people of all classes refer to nowadays. As it must be the basis of building a strong and sustainable society, this principle is studied and researched by individuals and private institutions, as well as civil and international religious institutions. The term of justice, at an empirical glance, seems to express a simple idea, accessible to most people's knowledge ability. However, analyzed in depth, from several perspectives, it proves to intrinsically carry a much more complex reality. Justice should not be reduced to a simple human convention, because what is right is not initially determined by law, but rather by the ontological nature of humankind. In the exercise of justice, one must not exclusively appeal to, as we see it happening sometimes, the criteria of usefulness and wealth. The current ideological and social context urges the treatment of justice as a human-divine value of fundamental importance, which can lead to equilibrium and stability in the whole human society. Considered and analyzed from a human and social perspective, justice governs the rights of the individual, the family, the institutions, and also the social and international community. We see that all people live and work, primarily, under the empire of faith. This can be seen even in those who declare themselves atheists because they are also faithful people, who believe, but they believe that there is no God. Due to the presence and the undeniable influence of religious belief, in the actions of each human being, it is necessary to succinctly consider justice from a religious perspective, as well.
