PROJECT-ORIENTED TRAINING IN PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION OF BACHELORS IN ORGANIZING WORK WITH THE YOUTH
Abstract
The need for project training in professional education of bachelors in organizing work with young people is caused by specificity of professional activities with the youth - the development and implementation of projects in the youth environment is the main competence in this field of activity. At the same time, mechanisms for including students in initiating, developing and implementing projects were developed with insufficient thoroughness, and basic indicators and criteria for students' readiness for project activities were not sufficiently studied. The purpose of this paper is to identify effective mechanisms for involving students in project activities of learning process, to explore the opportunities for them to master their social and project competence and, in general, to improve the quality of vocational training. The study was organized in several stages. With the purpose to reveal the level of studentsВ’ mastering of social and project competence, the curricula and working programs of the academic disciplines were analyzed in the direction of "Organizing work with the youth" at the first stage. The substantive foundations of disciplines were revealed, modules of project-oriented training on basic courses of vocational training were developed. At the second stage the project-oriented training, aimed at studentsВ’ mastering the basics of project activities, was conducted. After the training, the readiness of students for the project activity and the levels of mastering social and project competencies were studied. The third stage of the study included synthesis and summarized the results of the study. The potential inherent in project-oriented learning allows, without significant changes in the educational process and the use of its resources, to effectively improve the quality of bachelorsВ’ professional training in organizing work with young people. This is ensured by initiating students' projects in training activities and practices; implementation of projects and organization of events for the manifestation and support of studentsВ’ innovative initiatives as well as participation of students in expert and consulting activities at the university project sites and practice bases. Project activity refers to the category of innovative, creative activity, since it involves the transformation of reality, is built on the basis of appropriate technology, which can be unified, developed and improved. Using project-oriented training in the learning process, it becomes possible to increase the motivation of students and the quality of vocational training in general.
