Abstract

Analysis of the main trends of migration flows at the level of the Russian Federation does not give a complete picture of the nature of the monitoring process. The structure of Russia includes 85 regions, which differ significantly from one another depending on the socio-economic situation. In this regard, migration flows are multidirectional. A detailed assessment of population migration requires an assessment of territorial differences. To solve this problem, the cluster analysis method was used. For the formation of clusters, a system of indexes was developed. These indexes describe both the migration flows, and the parameters of the social and economic well-being of the regions. The source of statistical information was the data from official Russian statistics. To analyze the transformation of clusters, the analysis was carried out for 1998 and 2015. Because of the lack of information on two regions for 1998, they were excluded from the analysis. Based on the results of the analysis, three groups of regions were formed: donor regions, recipientsВ’ regions, regions -"transshipment bases". Recommendations are given for regions with low migration attractiveness for improving the social and economic situation of the population.
