LIFE-SENSE STRATEGIES AIMED AT FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIPS WITH SIGNIFICANT OTHERS OF MIDDLE-AGED WOMEN

Abstract

In the article the author proceeds from the conception that family as a social institution takes a significant part in socialization of the child, being the basic support and a pattern for imitation as a model of the world around. The relations of parents between themselves and the relations of parents with children form a sense-value sphere of the child and as a result his/her life-sense strategies which direct the future life of the child. The theoretical grounds of the research are based on the theories of meaning (sense) and values which are reflected in the works by I.V. Abakumova, R.F. Baumeister, K. Chamberlain, V.E. Chudnovsky, L.Ju. Kruteleva, D.A. Leontiev, S.H. Schwartz, etc. as well as on the theories of child-parent relations and upbringing presented by the works of J. Bowlby, D.B. Elkonin, E.E. Erickson, Ju.B. Gippenreiter, Ya. Korchak, C.R. Rogers, etc. To prove the advanced hypotheses the author uses such methods as standardized interviews, testing, analytical comparison and statistical data processing. Reasoning from the statement that life-sense strategies of a person, formed in the childhood and being sufficiently stable, show themselves as disposition to behave in a certain way in every particular situation, the author statistically proves that relations with significant others (father and mother) in the childhood form sense-value attitudes directed to perception of oneself and determine life-sense strategies aimed at family of middle-aged women; these life-sense strategies change with the increase of years.
