CONDITIONS OF WORK OF UKRAINIANS WORKING IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
Abstract
The goal of the study consisted in describing the working conditions of the target group of Ukrainians living in the Czech Republic and in finding connections to their health condition. The questionnaire investigation was carried out with 237 Ukrainians in 20132014. The results show that the target group of migrants is exposed to adverse working conditions. Methods: The study implemented a questionnaire investigation (201 questions) in form of controlled selection. The collected data were statistically processed with the help of SPSS version 16. The applied methods included Pearson chi-square test and Fisher exact test. After that, the individual relations were observed with the help of the analysis of adjusted residues (sign scheme). Results: The target group of immigrants from Ukraine is exposed to unsatisfactory working conditions; their work is physically demanding; a half of them work in noisy environment; 10 % of them do not have a single day off; in general, the whole group work for an excessive number of hours a day. The middle value is a ten-hour workday. But we can state with relief that only 6 % of them feel bad with respect to health.
