THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE CONCEPTS OF ECONOMIC SECURITY AND PSEUDO-SECURITY

Abstract

Security is one of the basic human needs. Without the formation of a secure social and economic system, a person cannot fully realize his need for security. We considered various definitions of security. Our objective was to examine a system of concepts that are close to the notion of security – danger, risk, threat, stability, vulnerability, reliability, harm, damage, loss, sustainable development. Firstly, the interaction of these concepts was presented graphically. Secondly, the authors have proposed a new concept of pseudo-security. In this study, the emphasis was placed on economic security as the main component of national security and economic pseudo-security. Overall, we have given the examples of hidden determinants of economic pseudo-security (in the context of production factors): industrial and educational pseudo-security; industrial and investment pseudo-security; innovative and investment pseudo-security; innovative and educational pseudo-security; scientific and technological pseudo-security; scientific and industrial pseudo-security; resource pseudo-security. We employed an indicative approach to find the hidden factors that characterize economic pseudo-security. Finally, the authors came to the following conclusion: economic pseudo-security is a transitional state between economic security and danger, which at any time, if no attempts are made to change the situation (distribution of forces, interactions) within the system, tends to degenerate into economic danger.
