MUSEUM AS A CONTENT PROVIDER. IT IN THE SPACE OF A MUSEUM
Abstract
A certain article aims to develop a topic of the IT and visitor interaction in terms of a museum's space. The essay evaluates a practical implementation of the IT technologies as well as its utilitarian function. The article proves that a practice of using gesture management tools as well as semantic web possibilities are the future of the European cultural landscape. Analysis of the museumВ’s cases within international field gives a certain opportunity to understand both current and future possibilities of the culture sector functioning in terms of art institutionsВ’ walls. More than forty years have passed since the keyboard was the only means of communication with the computer. After decades, the men moved his right hand to the mouse and freed the left one for a cup of coffee. We stayed until the middle of the 2000s in this idyll, when the Steve Jobs revolution forced our fingers to grow to the screen of the phone, stretching the images and twirling the gadget in space. Today's novelties are trying to tear our hands away from touchscreens. However, not to move them to another device, but make hands move in the air. Step by step we are firmly on the road when gestures speak for us. In a certain sense, the programming of the gesture recognition system is just an improvement of the training programs that have long been in service to museums. The visitor can find exact copies of books or scrolls quite often in museums that you can hold in your hands and even deploy, fell the contact with the real object. Although, the computer system is something completely different by its nature, but the visitor feels similar emotions on the level of sensations. It is enough to stand in front of the screen in the field of special sensors-camcorders view. The system of gestures recognition is also important for museums, as it creates its world where the visitor can manipulate a work of art, the original piece of which is a showcase. As a result, museum items become more understandable and carry more information when they are taken in hands and inspected in detail. This is what most museums suffer from - the inability to get as much information as possible from the object. A booklet or a sign accompanying the showcase, turn the exhibition space into a catalog with corridors. Thus, it's time to make it virtual.
