STUDIES REGARDING CONSUMER PREFERENCES FOR GEORGAPHICAL INDICATION WINES FROM THE MINIS MADERAT VINEYARD

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to identify consumers' preferences for Geographical Indication wines from the Mini? M?derat vineyard, wines that are traditionally in the area and at the same time are also km 0, favoring a sustainable development of the area. Two wine centers, Mini? and M?derat, although they are close, shows important differences. Mini? climatic conditions and soil conditions favor the production of quality red wines, and at M?derat, located further north, the climate is less generous and soils more fertile favors of white and red wines for general consume. The research that was made using questionnaire in field during 2016 confirm that most consumers are responsible consumers, they are interested in the impact of their lifestyle on the environment and choose traditional, local wines, those with geographical indication. The right to use G.I. means the right of public use of the name of the appropriate geographical indication for the defined wine-growing area granted to wine producers operating in the wine-growing zone concerned.
