TOWARDS POSITIVE ENERGY BUILDINGS IN EUROPEAN UNION: CHANGES AND EFFECTS
Abstract
The latest researches consider positive energy buildings as being a new sustainable pathway for reaching a green society. This implies a more secure future, with low resource consumption, zero energy losses, minimization of greenhouse gas emissions and of biodiversity losses. A way to achieve this desideratum is by investing in restoration and new constructions considering the economic, social and environmental impacts. This paper focuses on investigating the new trends in construction and building sector from the point of view of energy use and greenhouse gas emissions at European Union level. Also, from this perspective, an analysis was made for analyzing the status of member states, emphasizing the Romanian position changes. The data used for this research comes from statistical databases of EU and of Romania. The results indicate the adaptation of new measures and programmes for creating positive energy buildings at European level, but, still, little knowledge and small interest in reporting and evaluating the required energy use indicators in Romanian building and construction sectors.
