APPLIED STUDY FOR ACQURING VOCAL EXPRESSION MEANS IN STAGE PLAY

Abstract

The stage construction of a role could be influenced by the borderline situation of a show, staged with a particular expressivity. The creation process of the stage play demonstrates the ability of the actor to transform and transpose himself in the role considering the borderline situations of the dramatic text. The performer could express the dramatic dimension of his text and the impact on the receiver even since the first rehearsals. One unique, obsessive question keeps standing though: how do I play? At the first encounter with the text, the actor differentiates himself from another reader through the fact that he will try to imagine the most dramatic scene transposed on stage and sees himself in that particular situation, which he attempts to mentally construct with artistic expressivity methods based on his acting technique. The paper analyses the play methods in reference to the specific vocal exercises starting from the dramatic text, the development of the stage actions as per the targeted objective, the passing through the borderline situation and the stage creation act transformation. This research reveals new means of constructing the role, the actor focusing on the vocal expressivity of the retorts. Having as reference point the works of major theater creators: theoreticians, directors, and professors, we will highlight the fact that the voice of the character is discovered by the actor through individual means and methods, towards the bumpy but very dramatic road of stage play creation.
