Abstract

The significant growth in tourism from Romania has led to more and more complex scientific approaches on the role of this sector in the structural dynamics of the local economy. The study aims to develop analytical methodologies of the dynamic relationship between tourism and the other components of the territorial system. Quantification of complex relationship in each tourist resort from Romania was carried out through a database at the territorial administrative unit level, at NACE cod level (Classification of Activities in the National Economy). The reporting was made for the following indicators: number of companies, number of employees, turnover and profit, for the period 2000-2016. This database was also used for creating graphics and trend matrices on evolution of the indicators mentioned above, as well as for the evolution of rank on the share of tourism in total economy and in the service sector. The results show different reporting patterns, identifying distinct categories of tourist resorts, depending on the share of tourism in the development of the local economy
