Abstract

This paper provides a synopsis of the chapter “Leading and Managing Action Research for School Improvement: The Case of Bahraini Schools”, published recently by Nova Publishers in Gina Abbott’s (2015) edited work “Private and Public Schools: International Perspectives, Management and Educational Efficiency”. This chapter provides a contextualization of action research in the Kingdom of Bahrain, by providing a historical account and background information of it. It also presents a theoretical discussion of the main misconceptions and challenges associated with action research implementation and the necessary system reforms needed for its future success.
