THE IMPACT OF GLOBAL TRENDS IN THE LABOR MARKET
Abstract
In recent years, there has been an increasing need for the development of human capital, which is currently recognized as a further factor of economic growth. However, the importance of human capital has always been influenced by the development of human society. In the past 20 years, the importance of flexible work force, well-motivated and highly skilled has become en revealed. The openness of economy has changed not only our lifestyle but the labor market as well. This is why employers, in accordance with their objectives to increase productivity, competitiveness, the quality of services and globalization, increase demands on the skills, competence and knowledge of the employees and in order to ensure lower operating costs of their activities they introduce new trends in human capital management. The article focuses on the impact of eight major international trends in the labor market, on global trends, such as offshoring, outsourcing, out-tasking, employee leasing etc. and on the changes of the method of working.
