TASK-TECHNOLOGY FIT MODEL: THE RELATIONSHIPS WITH JOB-SATISFACTION, ITS RELIABILITY AND ORGANIZATIONAL COLLECTIVE EFFICACY

Abstract

This study focuses on the Task-Technology Fit model (TTF) of Goodhue and Thomson that analyzes the match between user task needs and the available functionality of the IT in workplace. Our research wants to study if a good Task-Technology Fit improves the employee’s job satisfaction and IT use. Moreover our model suggests two new different antecedents of TTF: the perceived reliability of the IT and organizational collective efficacy. A sample of 505 Italian workers filled out a questionnaire. Partial least squares path modeling confirmed the hypothesized effects with T values of relationships ranged from 3.86 to 8.40.
