SOME FEATURES OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF RURAL SETTLEMENTS AND RURAL POPULATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TATARSTAN

Abstract

The article discusses some aspects of the distribution of rural population and settlements of the Republic of Tatarstan since 1959 for 2013. The main factors influencing the location of rural population and settlements – geographical, social, economic, environmental, transport etc. national peculiarities of the peoples such as Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs, Chuvash, Maris, Udmurts etc.who live on the territory of the Republic,influenced For the placement and formation of a network of rural settlements. In the early twentieth century, a historically Russian village in its placement obeyed the same regularities, and villages in the Central regions of Russia, whence came the majority of settlers on the present territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. At the new place they try to locate their villages as well as at home. Especially the emergence of rural settlements in the Republic of Tatarstan were deeply affected by the following factors as water, land, soil, transport. As numerous rivers and their valleys were the main natural transport routes, which were the cause of the settlement of the territory of the Republic. Therefore, many rural settlements arose along medium and small rivers flowing into large rivers: Volga, Kama, Vyatka, White. The article reveals the causes of migration to the countryside. The analysis of changes in the national composition of the rural population and their causes.
