Abstract

Both teachers and parents aim obtaining educational success, but the perspectives and the meanings assigned to it by each of these two parts are different. The ideal state is achieved when the both parties work together for the benefit of the student, when both have the same objective, namely: achieving the educational success. This paper presents an applied research study, focused on primary school pupils’ educational success, pupils that are attending courses in mass education schools. The purpose of this study is to trace how both parents and teachers represent to themselves the educational success and what meaning they give to the educational success factors involved, especially the teachers’ attitude toward the small scholar’s activity and teachers’ attitude toward the educational process. The study was conducted by using the focus group method and the interview guide developed for the focus group meeting focused on five dimensions. The study results revealed that teachers consider that a school pupil is successful not only whether it has good results at the end of the school year, but stressed the fact that the successful completion of all educational cycles better reflect this, while the parents have regarded the educational success through the factors involved in gaining it.
