REVERSE ENGINEERING OF THE HISTORIC BREWERY BUILDING AS A BIM OBJECT
Abstract
The historic Brewery in Szczytno is a very interesting architectural object, but does not have accurate documentation. In works on historic buildings, it may be very helpful to make documentation in BIM technology. This technology allows you to create a virtual building that can be filled with all information about it. Thanks to this, it is possible not only to track changes in the documentation, but also to quickly find any collisions. In order to reproduce the documentation that can be used during the renovation, the building was measured using a laser scanner. The result was obtaining a point cloud, thanks to which it is possible to build a 3D model. For this purpose, the basis of reverse engineering was based. Data in the form of points was cleared of unnecessary information and the geometry of the building was created. Scanning data is an excellent material for creating 3D models of a measured building. This work presents field measurements and the method of creating a three-dimensional model of the historic Brewery in Szczytno. The problems of BIM technology and the entire model creation process are described. In addition, the work describes what tasks this technology meets in modern building documentation. This study was completed with the conclusion containing the authors' conclusions.
