ATTITUDE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL FACULTY STUDENTS TO AGGRESSION AND VIOLENCE IN VARIOUS SPHERES OF HUMAN ACTIVITY
Abstract
Providing the psychological assistance is a complex process that depends largely on the inner well-being of psychologists themselves and their assessment of the social situation in which the assistance is provided. In this regard, the purpose of our study was to assess the aggression and violence in different spheres of life of modern Russian man. As the main method we used the survey. The study involved 118 future psychologists. The interviewed respondents believe that they live in an aggressive world full of violence. According to them, it is promoted by the mass media, especially the Internet and TV. Most respondents indicate that they do not display violence, and half of them do not experience violence in everyday life but this cannot be said about aggression. The respondents, in one way or another, face aggression in all areas of life. And only among friends they can feel safe, as almost all respondents mention level of aggression towards them as low or lack thereof in this interpersonal communication, and they are not aggressive towards their friends. Thus, the constant threat to become a subject of violence or aggressive attacks, insecurity, in our opinion, affects their inner well-being, provoking aggression. The results show the need to develop programs that enhance resilience to external factors and promote harmonization of inner state of experts in the field of psychology, which is a key to their effectiveness.
