Abstract

The global struggle for resources as well as increased life expectancy and birth rates conditions the search for new forms of satisfying the needs of the countryВ’s population by using artificial combinations of the potentials of natural organisms. To prevent RussiaВ’s insurmountable social and economic backwardness in the area of new opportunities and also to facilitate the change in shaping the public opinion and the citizensВ’ outlooks, it is vital to establish the actual coordinates and vectors of development of our state in terms of using GM products. Despite a large number of studies on this issue, and, moreover, convincing rhetoric of scientists, we see practical steps to formulate Russia's economic strategy and create world outlook for Russians to avoid using this product. The diversity of risks on this issue confirms the need for a comprehensive assessment of the impact of genetically modified products on the quality of life and making informed decisions on the strategy of public behavior in this area. A sociological survey conducted among Russian citizens showed that there are about 40% of citizens who are convinced of the harm of genetically modified products and carefully avoiding it in use. The other part of the population does not mind using such products or does not think about this problem. Thus, we are talking about the wide spread of genetically modified products and the ambiguous attitude of the population towards it, due to inadequate and inadequate information to citizens about the benefits or harms of such products. In Russia, a negative image of such products has been created, despite the widespread use of it throughout the world. The creation of a risk-based model of the use of products of genetic modification will, on the one hand, not leave Russia behind in the economy and scientific and technological progress from developed countries, and on the other - prevent negative consequences, in situations of proven risk.
