ASSESSMENT RESULTS OF EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES USED IN LEARNING SCIENCES IN NON-FORMAL ACTIVITIES
Abstract
At present, educational technological resources as virtual instruments help teachers and learners to introduce different concepts, in order to develop students' scientific knowledge and to practice different experiments without risks. In this sense, virtual laboratories allow students to make connections between the theoretical background and practical issues, using computers and specific software applications equipped with simulation capacities, as those met in real laboratories. Virtual laboratories offer a series of educational features, most of them producing knowledge building, modeling the reality, developing exploration skills, and appealing students' creativity and imagination. A Virtual Laboratory has been set as a specific outcome in the frame of the LLP-KA3 Project entitled “NTSE - Nano-Tech Science Education” (http://www.ntse-nanotech.eu/). It was promoted in various project educational activities, including special activities organized in July 2013, in the frame of a Nano-Science Camp - an event for 13-18 years old “researchers” from 5 countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, Romania, Turkey). The agenda of the Camp comprised also on hands-on research activities in the area of Nanoscience, as well as discussions related to students' professional orientation. The present paper illustrates the analysis offered by the teachers and students who participated to the Nano-Science Camp event. They were invited to fill a specific questionnaire which aimed to assess the work done during the Camp activities, in order to emphasize the students' interest for Nanoscience, and to draw an image related to the usefulness of the event.
