STUDENT ATHLETE’S RESILIENCE: THE ROLE OF PERCEIVED COACH’S RESILIENCE, COACHING EFFICACY, AND SPORT’S MASCULINITY
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate whether perception toward coach’s resilience and coaching efficacy of coaches, as well as perceived sport’s masculinity play a role in predicting student athlete’s resilience. This study used a quantitative, predictive correlational design. The participants, as many as 201 student athletes (age of 18-23 years old), were taken using purposive sampling technique. Multiple linear regression analysis of survey questionnaire data showed that the perception toward coach’s resilience and perceived sport’s masculinity plays a significant role in predicting student athlete’s resilience. However, perception toward coaching efficacy is not able to predict it.
