ERASMUS + PLACEMENTS– A BRIDGE TO THE ORGANIZATIONAL WORLD
Abstract
This study has assessed studentsВ’ perception in what concern the Erasmus + Placement Program for Recent Graduates, a mobility that allows graduates to do a traineeship placement in an enterprise or organization in the European Community. The participants in this study are graduates of the Politehnica University of Timisoara (N=130) who have benefited from an Erasmus Placement. The research involved a survey based on a questionnaire centered on the sources of information, motivational factors, the relationship between the traineeship and the educational profile, and the positive and negative feedback on the program. Results show that an Erasmus placement may stimulate the acquisition of a social, cultural and professional capital, acquisition hard to gain in an otherwise normal context of life. Career is an important aspect of a young personВ’s life, as a coronation of the educational effort made all through the period of study. In this context, the Erasmus placement appears to be a strong point in itself, in the sense that it may help to increase the level of employability and it may turn into an advantage in the labor market competition, as an element that most employers appreciate as positive.
