GENDER STEREOTYPE OF MANS IMAGE IN TATAR PROVERBS
Abstract
The article is devoted to gender analysis of lexemes meaning a man on the material of Tatar proverbs. Axiological characteristics of a mans image studied on the basis of physiological (features of appearance, age characteristics), psychological (personality traits, intellectual abilities, relationships between man and woman) and status and role characteristics (behavioral characteristics, family relations, social status, property condition). The study of gender stereotypes from linguocultural point of view reveals ethnically and culturally conditioned specifics of masculinity conceptualization in Tatar proverbs. Tatars are Turkic people, mostly living in Russia, Republic of Tatarstan. Not being a dominant ethnic group, Tatars working hard to keep their national identity, language and history. Moreover, Tatars are not among well-known nations as they dont have their own state, nonetheless it is required to study and popularize linguistic and cultural peculiarities of Tatars as one of successors of ancient Turkic heritage.
