Abstract

Generally defined as the method to transfer the ownership and control of an entity from the public sector to the private sector, privatization causes a strong impact in important areas such as social, economic, environmental. The study aims to describe, the benefits but also the effects achieved by governments and companies that have chosen and understood the importance of a transparent and competitive privatization. The data collected to be presented shows clearly that governments manage to implement policies but not to coordinate always efficient companies. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the economic benefits of privatization starting from consecutive reduction of public debt and / or release resources for other priorities, increasing interest in economic development, making decision makers responsible for debts up to development of domestic capital markets and attracting inward investment. With this analysis we will demonstrate the importance of the legal framework, with direct impact in the economic field and the need for it to be improved.
