THE CORRELATION BETWEEN EXTERNAL AND INTERNAL MOTIVATION OF TEACHERS AND THEIR COMPETENCIES FOR WORK WITH STUDENTS IN SCHOOL
Abstract
In this empirical research we have treated the correlation between external and internal motivation of teachers and their competencies for work with students in school. The above written hypothesis links also with several psychologists theories. In a survey of 128 studies done recently was shown the effect of external rewards about kids, teenagers and adults behavior, was found that when given external rewards for an action, theres a chance they wouldnt do it for a short period of time. However unexpected rewards (unlike the above written), do not necessarily reduce internal motivation but increase it. The submitted hypothesis confirms that external motivation in this case material rewards (praise, gratitude, salary increase, teachers promotion etc.) and non-material such as good words for the work and its quality, acknowledgement, special respect etc., increases teachers internal motivation.
