Abstract

In this empirical research we have treated the correlation between external and internal motivation of teachers and their competencies for work with students in school. The above written hypothesis links also with several psychologistsВ’ theories. In a survey of 128 studies done recently was shown the effect of external rewards about kids, teenagers and adultsВ’ behavior, was found that when given external rewards for an action, thereВ’s a chance they wouldnВ’t do it for a short period of time. However unexpected rewards (unlike the above written), do not necessarily reduce internal motivation but increase it. The submitted hypothesis confirms that external motivation in this case material rewards (praise, gratitude, salary increase, teachers promotion etc.) and non-material such as good words for the work and itВ’s quality, acknowledgement, special respect etc., increases teachersВ’ internal motivation.
