Abstract

Students of University of Business, Arts and Technology RISEBA starting supervisory practice, are faced with the problem that in the business environment is a lack of awareness and understanding of supervisor work. This raises the concern that the requested service is not required enough in the Latvian market. The situation is a little better with the coaching services, because for the past 5 years coaching promotion was quite active, therefore, awareness and understanding of this service has improved. The aim of paper – to explore the supervision and coaching services need and recognition (awareness) in Latvia. In total, 194 respondents aged 20-74 years participated in the study. The research used a survey “The consumer awareness about supervision and coaching” among different groups of respondents and a method of association for the words "coaching" and "supervision". During the study, it was concluded that, in general, people are more familiar with coaching than with supervision. The use of the supervision and coaching services in general is significantly lower than the consumer awareness or knowledge about these services. The results of the research show that there is not enough information about supervision in the consumer market.
