PAPER CONTEMPORARY APPROACH IN ORGANIZINGSTATE-OWNED COMPANY: EVIDENCE FROMSERBIAN RAILWAYS INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGER

Abstract

The paper aim is an attempt to analyses the status quo of the stated-owned company Serbian railways infrastructure in terms of strategic development and particularly goal-setting advancement. PaperВ’s method is based on contemporary streams in management of stated-own enterprises and specifically alternative models of organizing relatively rigid organizations. The study examines and it shows that there is much work to be done to bring the system of objectives into a position that enable and ensure a sufficiently high management efficiency of both the enterprise stochastically and the performance management that is an essential element of governance of human resources. Based on the paper findings and results we suggest starting a procedure to develop a new system of objectives, consistent with the main goals of Serbia's railway sector reform. It is appropriate that work be based on the following system of strategic directions for development such as efficient maintenance, modernization and development of railway infrastructure, technological preparedness and level of development of business operations, upgrading of rail transport system towards adjacent countries, in line with the EU standards and other measures.
