Abstract

Industrial heritage contains two large components: industrial architecture i.e. buildings, which were used like industrial sites, and techno-technological heritage i.e. technique which was used generally in the 19 th – beginning of the 20 th centuries. The preserving industrial heritage arose before countries of Europe, America and Australia as early as in the 50 – 60s of the last century, during the process of rapid technological changes, when the level of industrial production was being changed. First discussion about the necessity to create international body to preserve industrial heritage began in 1973, when Ironbridge George Museum was created under the leadership of Nale Kossons, who is the national representative in England at the moment. The first international congress on problems of preserving industrial landmarks in Ironbridge in 1973 – was the first meeting, where international authorities took part. The international organization TICCIH itself was founded in 1978 in Stockholm. TICCIH – is a worldwide organization to preserve industrial heritage, which is for security, preserving, research and description of the world s industrial heritage – sphere of its activities includes studying of industrial material remains – plants, industrial sites, buildings and constructions, equipment. It is important for the local authorities, scientific community and public organizations to show legislation initiatives to get a clear and logical system of control, studying, preserving ,rehabilitation and further usage of industrial heritage landmarks, which represent an enormous interest not only in the national but also international scale.
