Abstract

This article raises issues related to development of a modern state’s foreign policy in the context of intensifying the processes of economization of foreign policy and politicization of economy against the background of globalization transformations. In this regard, economic type of diplomacy as smart power allows medium and smaller nations to participate in international processes with maximum efficiency. Special part of the article is dedicated to reviewing the influence of globalization on strengthening the role of economic diplomacy in the modern world, which is primarily associated with the determining role of the economy in this process. Globalization sets new requirements for a state related to development and implementation of its foreign policy direction. The article also reviews conceptual methodical approaches to studying the economic diplomacy.
