Abstract

The article reflects not just a personal concern of the author of the fate of social and philosophical thought in the era of the tectonic social shifts. This article discusses the problems of modern social and philosophical knowledge, as an appeal to the ontological foundations of sociology and the need for a new perspective on the social phenomena underlying the sociological theories (personality, society, social structure, etc.) taking in account intense social changes in the society of the XXI century. Sociological science needs a new approach to the analysis of innovative personality as a particular social type, the essence of which in the field of sociology is yet to be clearly defined. The article also raises the problem of formation of innovative personality type as a mass phenomenon in Russia that is important condition for the country's transition to innovative way of development. One of the important aspects of the study becomes a dangerous line between an innovative personality and “technocratic monster” leading to aggravation of such social contradictions as social inequality, the overthrow of moral and ethical values, social exclusion of certain social groups etc. The author's reasoning is conducted in the context of synergetic approach to the analysis of socio-economic processes, N. Kondratiev’s theory of long waves, the theory of innovation of J. Schumpeter, and civilizational approach. Through the prism of general sociological understanding of the individual author attempts to identify the key characteristics of innovative personality. The theoretical analysis is supported by the results of empirical research using survey methods and observations.
