EXPERT EVALUATIONS OF MODERN ELITE EDUCATION: SEARCHING FOR NEW VALUES AND MEANINGS
Abstract
The development of modern society at the level of post-industrial relations requires not only the creation of the foundations of the digital economy and the introduction of advanced scientific achievements (hi-tech), but also a qualitative change in the system of training professional personnel. In this regard, the role of universities and, in particular, of faculty members, which are facing new challenges, is growing. It is not so much about changing educational programs, but about changing the very principles of assessing the quality of training, the scope and direction of their competence, the development of creative abilities and the formation of a self-sufficient personality. Specialists become carriers of the latest know how (secrets of the production of new values), which requires them to constantly improve the quality of their professional level. Under these conditions, the role of the university increases, which becomes the main “mechanism” in the selection of professional elites. Education becomes continuous and requires specialists to constantly improve their professional competence and responsibility. The historiographic analysis of this problem makes it possible to detect and clarify the struggle of various ideological positions regarding the essence, meaning, character and vector of the development of elite education in the 21st century. The existing various approaches to assessing this problem indicate the ambiguity and multidimensionality of the options for the development of elite education in the framework of modern university projects. The article analyzes the expert assessments of the problem of modern elite education, as a key component in the selection of professional elites. The experts are the world's leading analysts, representatives of political and cultural elites, individuals whose professional activities directly depend on the quality of training in leading universities in the world and whose opinion is an authoritative and weighty conclusion.
