HEALTH STANDARD ASSESSMENT OF STUDENTS RESIDING IN AN INDUSTRIAL CITY

Abstract

The article considers the results of the biological age assessment of 354 students of Magnitogorsk State Technical University named after G. I. Nosov. The study reveals that the age increasing shows the deterioration of health, as for 1.66 times decline of the number of people with good health and 1.93 times increase of the number of students with satisfactory health standard. In all age groups the most students have a biological age below the supposed one, but a third of the students have a biological age higher than the supposed one. With the increase in the age of the students, the rate of ageing increases: the fourth year students have the risks of increasing the rate of aging and loss of health 1.43 times more often compared with the students of the first year. The most significant factors affecting the students health and the rate of body aging were (according to the rank scale) - poor organization of unsupervised activities, chronic diseases and unhealthy diet. In the fourth year of study, in most cases, such factors are unbalanced diet and hypodynamia, which is characterized by a long static pose at the computer during the exam session or when writing the final qualifying work.
