DYNAMIC MODEL OF LABOR MIGRATION: AGE GROUPS BEHAVIOR

Abstract

International labor migration significantly impacts on the process of economic integration for developed labor markets. Labor migration on the territory of countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States is directed to big labor markets in Russia and Kazakhstan. In this article we describe a model, that takes into account the feedback of average salaries defined by the supply of labor resources, affecting migration processes between countries of origin and destination. The model takes into account the influence of migration flows age distribution on the labor market in the country of migration destination and allows to estimate the potential of migration flows and their impact on the socio-economic system. In our research we consider migration flows directed into Russia in dependence on the ratio between migration costs, age structure of migration flows and the possible salary level for each migrant. The dynamic model of labor migration is also a model of optimization, that simulates the optimal level of labor resources and their costs, which allows to establish a strategy of migration policy development for regions and countries of migration destination. We also estimate the interaction of natural population growth and age-grouped migration flows in the country of destination.
