DESIGNING BY MEANS OF ONLINE SERVICES

Abstract

The research paper presents innovative approaches to using online services in the course of creating design projects. In order to substantiate theoretical constructs as to using online services in the field of designing we employed a set of theoretical and empirical research methods, among which: modelling professional activities, determining a status of solving the problem, the method of observation, the conversation method etc. Using FloorPlan 3D, Sweet Home 3D, and Planoplan online services, which fall under analysis in the research paper, can lead to lower purchasing costs of necessary software and increase the efficiency of design projects. Moreover, the above services have the potential to facilitate preparedness of future professionals for living and working under conditions of the modern information-oriented society, to diversify designing activities, to provide for the simplicity of creating a design project. Some other assets of using such online services involve the following: consistency of operation; fast access to designer resources; openness of the educational system for those willing to create their dream dwelling. FloorPlan 3D, Sweet Home 3D, and Planoplan online services make it possible to design living quarters, buildings, landscapes etc. The extended range of tools, user friendliness, clear interface, availability of additional interior elements as well as the possibility of downloading designer projects from a remote computer (web-site, ftp-site, mail server etc.) with the view to circulate such projects, account for the widespread use of the above online services by amateur designers, persons who approach fitting out their dwellings in a creative way as well as by professional designers.
