Abstract

Institute for corporative productivity (American Society for Training and Development) defines the talent management as an organizational approach to leading people by building culture, engagement, capability and capacity through integrated talent acquisition, development, and deployment processes that are aligned to business goals. CEB High-Potential Solution (Gartner) states that high potential employees are 91% more valuable to a business than other staff. As time progressed, searching for new tools, more reliable approach to identifying talent continues and new innovative methods become available. Gamification is the practice of applying gaming principles to the everyday tasks and it can be applied across the recruitment and retention of top talented individuals. Talent management is an important topic for many Latvian organizations. Companies fight for the professional staff and when the organization has acquired the specialist, the improvement of their skills and competences should continue. Unfortunately, only a small part of Latvian organizations has introduced talent development programs. The programs need to be continuously improved in the search for new methods and tools. One of the innovative methods undoubtedly is a gamification. The aim of the author's research was to find out how the business environment in Latvia is informed about gamification, and how the opportunities offered by it are used in HR area and talent management.
