VALUE PICTURE IN RUSSIAN PAREMIOLOGY
Abstract
The article discusses the history of the emergence of axiology as a science, the interrelation of axiology and culturology, describes the basic terms and concepts of linguistic and cultural axiology; in particular the problem of values is discussed from the perspective of the approaches existing in cultural studies and linguistics. The author analyses the linguistic status of the value and evaluation categories and examines the expression of axiological meanings in language. The aim of the study is to examine the so-called "household texts" and find out the most important value characteristics typical for the given society. Such texts are built on the basic principle of axiology – the binary opposition "good-bad". The basic methods of the scientific research are statistics method, method of comparative and quantities analyses of the data, method of description. During the research the authors thoroughly explore the semantic and function of the folk omens and their axiological content.
