ROOF SUPERSTRUCTURES - ONE OF THE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS FOR NEW RESIDENTIAL SPACES IN EXISTING SETTLEMENT UNITS
Abstract
Reconstruction, regeneration and modernization of the settlements in the Czech Republic is the current process. The improvement of the existing housing stock, including the improvement of the social life of our settlement sis one of the long-term goals in the development of our cities. The settlements in most of our cities do not correspond with the current requirements of modern trends and modern way of life of people in the 20th century. In the recent time also positive view of life on the settlement (mainly on civic amenities and grown vegetation) appears. Interest in new housing units in some urban areas rose but new houses must fulfil actual legislation requirements, especially requirements for energy intensity of each new flat, their internal environment by using of modern technologies and materials. Small, so-called starter flats and big luxury apartments are missed in contemporary settlements. Design of roof superstructure is one of the solutions to add the missing flat categories without needless and often impossible concentration of existing buildings of our settlements.
