NATURAL AND SOCIAL FACTORS OF THE CITY ENVIRONMENT (CASE-STUDY OF KAZAN)
Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of the social and natural aspects of the city environment. The city environment is recognized as the most important factor of creating and maintaining comfort in the city. The city environment forms the quality of life. Therefore, the city receives advantages in competition for residents, tourism and investment. The study examined the views of the local expert community on the most important factors that form a comfortable city environment. Research was conducted on the example of Kazan. Kazan is a city with million inhabitants, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan and the core of monocentric Kazan agglomeration. Tourism is one of the priority branches of modern Kazan. For the last five years, programs to improve the state of the city environment and public spaces have been held in the city. The study was devoted to identifying the opinion of the expert community (city planners, ecologists, geographers, researchers) regarding the relevance of the natural, environmental and social factors of the city environment in various categories (urban activists, business, etc.), as well as readiness to participate in creating and maintaining high quality of the city environment.
