Abstract

Historical, architectural, and environmental values preserving specific atmospheres of the cities enhance the sense of cultural continuity and diversity over time, being resources of identity, inspiration, and hope. As the patrimony becomes active in the public consciousness, it enhances the citizens’ sense of identity and functions as a psychological anchor over time, connecting generations around common values and roots. The current paper describes the results and impact of the activities for children and youth within the cultural project “Un.seen Iași Stories. chitecture" that was created by the author in order to enhance the public awareness of the less known architecture of the city of Iasi from North East of Romania. This initiative of valorization of the local heritage from Iasi aims to inform and creatively involve the young public, working to determine engagement and appropriation, towards a responsible generation, able to respect, valorize and protect the architectural heritage The educational activities within this project render for pupils and students new opportunities to creatively see, live and enjoy the less known atrimony. The works of art and photography created within this project enrich with meaning and color the imaginary of architecture in the public consciousness.
