Abstract

In this paper we aim to analyze the degree of concentration of the Romanian Gas Sector, taking into account the picture at national level, both regulated and competitive markets. Based on the available information, certain data analysis is made taking into account both the market shares of the enterprises in the sector and the number of active competitors, turnover or output, while the economic approach was tailored to availability of the data for each market. The Natural Gas Sector has been analyzed in terms of market concentration, with the help of the Herfindahl-Hirschman and Concentration Ratio indicators. The information was collected from the available data from the annual statistical reports of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).
