Abstract

The issue of health and safety at work and methods of risk prevention is one of the teaching subjects in schools preparing students for the job and further education of adults. The main aim of discipline Dangerous materials and processes is to obtain information about the hazardous substances and protection and prevention requirements necessary to achieve while handling them. Purpose of this paper is to emphasize the importance of occupational health and safety education as a form of prevention against accidents at work to future technicians. From the teacher perspective, statistical evaluation of the questionnaire results show the achieved level of knowledge and understanding by the students graduating this discipline. The paper includes evaluation of didactic survey of students of 2nd year bachelor’s study program Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). It emphasizes the importance of educational preparation on university level of future technicians and their continual education in OHS. This preparation is to prevent from accidents at work and risks that might endanger health and cause material damage at the work. The workplace where safety rules are respected, increases efficiency at work and leads to good working results.
