IDENTIFICATION AND SPECIFICATION OF DIMENSIONS OF COGNITIVE DISTORTIONS
Abstract
The report presents the results of a research aimed at identification of common dimensions of cognitive distortions. The research sample consisted of 336 respondents. Occurence of cognitive distortions was ob served with the help of 10 categories based on Becks Cognitive Theory [ 1]. Cognitive distortions were identified by means of daily records containing 10 pages per diary. The factor analysis generated four factors of cognitive distortions (selectiveelective-extrem e thinking thinking, personalizationersonalization-composition thinking, thinking in assumptions assumptions, dichotomous -emotional thinking thinking).
