Abstract

The article is devoted to the research of woman names in the phrasicon of Russian linguoculture. The topicality of the study is determined by the effort to bring into sharp focus the specific features of the analyzed phraseological semantic group in Russian phrasicon. The scientific novelty lies in consideration of the Russian phraseological woman names in different aspects – structural-semantic, functional-stylistic and linguocultural. In the article a classification of the phraseological group units is presented. It is found out that the phraseological unities with figurativeness and evaluativity in their semantics as well as phraseological units characterized by adjectives with phraseologically bound meaning dominate within the phraseological woman names corpus. The semantics of studied names is investigated at length. The structure of most phraseological units is the word-combination ‘adjective + noun’ where the noun component contains woman’s feature in its semantics and the adjective component characterizes her age, filiation, taste etc. or points out her mysti?, timeframe and spatial peculiarities. Studied phraseological units are brought into correlation with text reminiscences among which literature and Biblical mythological reminiscences prevail. That allows us to speak of the text as their main source of them. A negative connotation of the phraseological woman names is revealed, though this fact is to be connected with the general character of Russian phrasicon where across the phraseological field there are units carrying a negative connotation.
