Abstract

The study was aimed at new knowledge finding of child’s giftedness in the art-creative process. The methodology was to use the method “Art+”. It helped the teacher to notice signs of giftedness, which remain hidden in other conditions. Findings: the concept of “giftedness” has new aspects in modern art; the method “Art+" is based on the “Art-composition” teaching technology and included creative tasks, indicates the relationship of different types of giftedness. The results of the study were not exhaustive, but they confirmed that the art education should use principles of modern art, for example, the studying of “fruitful disorder” of reality (Umberto Eco); intuitive search for new meanings; rhizomes – nonlinear forms creation. The method of giftedness identification “Art+” was available for teachers who were not supported by the psychologist. Children in the art-creativity process acted freely and showed spontaneous giftedness. There were the moments when behavior differed from the usual behavior. For example, the child tried to unite elements from different spheres: music and mathematics, fine arts and sport, music and a foreign language. During the study we used scientists’ work of Samara State University of Social Sciences and Education. Based on the idea of Prof. Popov, we found it necessary to study giftedness as a system – “black box”, and not selected components – abilities. “The principle of freedom and contact”, proposed by Prof. Akopov, indicated that the child will have the best to show talents in contact with the environment and preserve independence of decisions. This principle is applicable, for example, in interpretation of the insight.
