Abstract

This article summarizes our current understanding of the construct of individual QOL as it pertains to persons with hearing (HI), visual (VI) or physical impairment (PhI) based on systematic review of expert articles discussing Quality of Life research. The article discusses what we have learnt about the QOL construct from the specific subjective point of view from persons with hearing, visual and physical impairment. The recent analysis is also directed on comparing generalized theoretical constructs with individualized quality of life perception based on measurements analysis. Implications and future challenges in the field of social policy and services are a part of the conclusion.
