FORMATION OF PROFESSIONAL SKILLS IN MILITARY PSYCHOLOGISTS BY MEANS OF A ROLE-PLAYING GAME IN THE FORM OF GIVING MINI-LECTURES

Abstract

Military psychologists play an important role in a modern army, particularly under conditions of war. During hostilities, a military psychologist extensively uses the group form of work. If this is the case, he applies a number of professional skills that are pedagogical or related to them. This makes it expedient to use immersion of military psychologists into pedagogical situations during their training. The paper describes the advisability of exploiting such a pedagogical situation as giving mini-lectures. The concept of an appropriate role-playing game is that future military psychologists (cadets) act alternately as lecturer, attendee and person who analyzes a lecture. The effectiveness of the role-playing game is analyzed based on the results of a self-assessment of professional skills maturity by future psychologists. Enhancement of maturity of 23 such skills is also analyzed. The objective nature of self-assessment is substantiated using methods of mathematical statistics. The obtained results allow updating the military psychologists training program and define the role-playing game in the form of giving mini-lectures as its mandatory element. It is also advisable that this role-playing game is used by refresher courses for military psychologists who have hands-on experience.
