DIALOGUE AS AN ESSENTIAL METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLE OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM SUPERVISION
Abstract
The paper follows-up the ongoing reform in the Slovak educational system and, accordingly, we emphasize the need for the dialogue within the educational process. We study education as a dialogue and exclude several of its important characteristics. We examine the conditions necessary to enable the dialogue to be implemented in classes, we focus on the preparation of the dialogue, including the actions that the preparation includes (gaining and processing of facts for the dialogue; detection and animation of former knowledge and experience of students; a pupil’s understanding of the subject matter, exploring the contradictions between reality and individual experience of a student and the formulation of opinions, views and attitudes) and the dialogue realisation, including activities connected with it (the confrontation of new knowledge with the knowledge of students and their analysis, hypotheses and their theoretical and practical examination; argumentation and its place in the dialogue, synthesis and formulation of conclusions of the dialogue).
