OUTREACH AS A TOOL TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING
Abstract
The significance of outreach and its impact in reaching victims is the focus of this article.Within the anti-trafficking field, outreach is an important topic and has been further developed by organizations to better address the difficulties that the crime of human trafficking present. The understanding and general awareness of human trafficking is fairly new. To address the growing problem of human trafficking, anti-trafficking organizations have devised outreach methods aimed at more effectively identifying, approaching and bringing trafficked persons to safety and providing them with the services available to them. The article serves to inform anti-trafficking organizations who conduct outreach, as well as the broader community, of the current trends in outreach methods, if these implementations have been successful and it is an educational tool for those conducting outreach and has been developed with the intention of providing pertinent information to the anti-trafficking community, about currently-used outreach methods - this allows to compare and contrast their own methods, and identify most effective methods.
